SHAN STATE – Some news sources on the China-Myanmar border said that shootings and fighting are continuing in Laukkaing township, Kokang region, Northern Shan State, and Chinese military helicopters are conducting patrol flights along the China-Myanmar border.
Since December 19th, shootings have taken place in various places in Laukkaing township, and the junta council has fired with heavy weapons. Junta Council is using excessive force, including bombing by airplanes, has been carried out. There are continuous shootings within Laukkaing city.
“Hills and camps that are strategically important near Laukkaing township were bombed by military planes and shooting with heavy weapons. The shooting continued within Laukkaing. The fighting resumed on December 19th and the fighting is still fierce. The junta council is using a lot of force with aircraft and heavy weapons,” explained a China-Myanmar border source.
It is learned that Chinese military helicopters are carrying out surveillance flights along the China-Myanmar border when the fighting in Laukkaing is intensifying.
“Chinese military helicopters are flying over the Myanmar-China border in DeHong district these days. They are patrolling for the stability and security of the border,” said a China-Myanmar border source.
