SHAN STATE – In Northern Shan State Laukkai Township, more than 1,000 people fleeing the war from Laukkai were trapped near Parsinkyaw Village. The refugees said that the junta bombardment on the mountains near the village with fighter jets caused the refugees trapped in the village to run helter-skelter.
A refugee said, “Today (November 10), the nearby mountains were bombarded, so we had to return to the village. People had to leave behind or sell their motorcycles and phones. Because of the bombardment by planes, they had to return to the village.”
Residents of the area said that an 8-year-old boy was killed on November 9 when the terrorist army fired heavy weapons at the refugees in Parsinkyaw Village Monastery, Laukkai Township.”
On the afternoon of November 9, the terrorist army opened fire on the Parsinkyaw Village Monastery, where the people fleeing from the city of Laukkai were dwelling, killing an 8-year-old boy and injuring two people.
The terrorist army is continuously firing heavy weapons in Laukkai Township, and the displaced people who left Laukkai City are stuck near Parsinkyaw Village and are requesting for passage.
About 1,000 people fleeing the war from Laukkai Township in early November were blocked halfway at Parsinkyaw Village by armed forces. They were not allowed to carry their phones and bags and had to put them in a pile. Currently, fighting is going on and the sounds of heavy weapons are also heard. Food prices are also rising. The refugees are trapped and their daily livelihood is in hardship.
The Three Brotherhood Alliance officially announced that they will increase military activities to regain Laukkai.
