SHAN STATE – Shan State Progress Party (SSPP) stated that the encounters had been raging between Shan State Progress Party/Shan State Army (SSPP/SSA) and the terrorist junta forces in Laihka Township, and the junta forces carried out offensive attacks.
The terrorist junta forces launched artillery attacks over the base of SSPP/SSA, starting from 6:15 a.m., on August 6. Afterwards, the fascist junta column with around 70 forces carried out offensive attacks to the base of SSPP/SSA, near Khai Hpet Nam Namp Pauk Village in He Hseng Village Tract of Laihka Township, and the fierce fight broke out.
Similarly, SSPP/SSA carried out counter offensive attacks to the junta’s Light Infantry Battalion – 573 base, near Mat Lan Village in Man Say Village Tract of Laihka Township, at around 7:30 a.m., on August 6, and the fighting between the two sides has become more intense.
On August 4 and 5, the terrorist junta forces fired at least 10 rounds of mortar shells over the camp of SSPP/SSA from their base in Man Kyan Kyay. The casualties of junta forces during the skirmishes have not yet been confirmed.
The junta council repeatedly forced to withdraw 10 camps of SSPP/SSA in Laihka Township, and SSPP/SSA also responded by saying that they cannot withdraw their troops for any reason due to the security of the headquarters.
