KARENNI STATE – The dead bodies of the junta soldiers who were killed during the battles in Loikaw downtown were found in Htay Ngr Lyar Lake while clearing the area, reported the locals and members of Karenni allied resistance forces.
At least four junta soldiers’ collapses can be seen on the water surface according to the photo evidence.
The battles continue in Loikaw Town to date (December 26) and the junta council is reportedly conducting air strikes using fighter jets and helicopters.
“Four 500lb bombs were bombarded in Daw U Khu by two junta jets,” said a member of Karenni allied resistance forces.
The western part of Daw U Khu Ward is Loikaw Prison, where the junta soldiers are stationed and the revolutionary forces are conducting operations to capture it starting from December 16.
As part of the operation 1111 that started on November 11, the Karenni allied resistance forces are aiming for the seizure of Loikaw Town, and after more than a month, they have been able to control two-thirds of the town, according to Karenni National Defense Force (KNDF) officials.
However, there are still about 10 places where the junta soldiers were stationed, including junta council outposts, which the Karenni Allied Resistance Forces’ capture is in progress.
The terrorist junta council’s regional operation command, infantry battalions #261, #250 and 54, artillery battalion #362, junta soldiers’ hospital #7 and support and transport division #722 are located in Loikaw Town.
