YANGON DIVISION – An official from Northern District People’s Defence Organisation (PDO) reported that the ward administration offices in Ward No. 9 and Ward no. 12 of Hlaingthayar Township were remotely detonated with three bombs each.
The explosions reportedly took place at around 5 a.m. on February 18 and the official informed that there could have been junta casualties but that it cannot be confirmed yet.
Soldiers of the Yangon Division Northern District PDO had asked the ward administration officers, hundred households chiefs, ten households chiefs, Pyu Saw Htee thugs and junta slaves to stop disrupting the people with regards to the recently enforced conscription law of the terrorist junta council and warned that there will be serious consequences if they continued with their actions.
Local residents also confirmed that there were explosions of at least six bombs in western Hlaingthayar Township in the early morning of February 18.
It is said that the first explosion went off at 4:52 a.m. on February 18, followed by another at 5:10 a.m., a third one went off at 5:15 a.m. and a fourth one shortly followed at 5:22 a.m. The explosions were said to be of high explosive strength and were extremely loud.
After the explosions, junta forces reportedly detained, beat up and interrogated several young people at the religious hall in Phoyarzar Street of Ward No. 7 in western Hlaingthayar Township and also blocked the intersection of Sagaing Road and Hpaan Road between Ward No. 9 and 12 where the explosions took place.
