MANDALAY DIVISION – A junta administrator recruiting for the junta council’s conscription in Wundwin Township, Meikhtila District was said to have been shot dead.
On Tuesday (March 19) around 6 p.m., Maung Pu, the junta appointed administrator for Theekone Village in Wundwin Township, was shot five times on his way back from the general administration office in Wundwin Township and died on the spot, according to an official from Wundwin Township Revolution Force (WTRF).
He is said to have went to the general administration office to submit the details of three young men to be conscripted by the junta council and was attacked on his way back.
“We want to say that this will be the fate for anyone who continue to work for the conscription law to please the junta council,” said the WTRF Official.
The official added that the eliminated junta administrator has been bullying the civilians not just in Theekone Village but also in nearby villages, relying on the influence of his son in law, a junta officer in Thaephyukone and was also equipped with a handmade gun.
A handmade gun and several bullets were reportedly confiscated from that administrator.
Revolutionary forces have issued warnings against those working to implement the junta council’s conscription law in various regions including Yangon, Mandalay, Magway and Sagaing Divisions.
