SAGAING DIVISION – Burma Liberation Democratic Front – BLDF attacked the junta soldiers who left Thazi Prison, Monywa Township, killing seven junta soldiers and confiscating four weapons.
On Sunday (December 24) at around 8:30 a.m., around ten junta soldiers were ambushed by the regional defense comrades, and both sides exchanged fire for about seven minutes.
During the attack, two junta soldiers were killed on the spot, and another five were wounded, said an official of BLDF.
Those junta soldiers had been extorting money from civilians, and the comrades attacked them at their hideout posts, he added.
The wounded junta troops were carried to Ahlone Hospital by ambulance. En route, Monywa PDF and Monywa Security Comrades intercepted them, killing five more and confiscating four weapons.
“We got information about the junta soldiers who were wounded at Thazi Prison Compound, being carried to Ahlone Hospital. That’s why our comrades waited for them on the route,” said Comrade John of BLDF.
