MON STATE – The revolutionary forces attacked the junta police stations in Anin and Htinshu villages of Than Phyu Zayet Township, killing 13 junta soldiers, according to Taung Nyo Column.
Anin and Htinshu village police stations were raided simultaneously from 6:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on January 31, resulting in three deaths and two injured in Anin Village station and ten deaths in Htinshu Village station, while two were injured.
The revolutionary allied forced had to return back as the junta council supplied a number of reinforcement, aerial attacks and artillery firings to the side before the seizure of the police stations, according to an official of Yebalu Force.
“It was an intense battle. They conducted air strike right before we could capture the camp. They faced a lot of casualties since we managed raid to the inside of their camp. We retreated as the junta side used artillery and fighter jets,” he said.
The attack was jointly carried out by Karenni National Liberation Army (KNLA) battalion #27, Yebalu Force, Taung Nyo Column and Padekaw Force, in accordance with the strategy of the KNLA. The battle lasted for five hours and it was the longest battle in Mon State. Five members of the revolutionary forces reportedly got minor injuries.
