SHAN STATE – BPLA announced that the Burmese People’s Liberation Army-BPLA also participated along with its allies during the battle of Hopang in northern Shan State.
BPLA issued an official notification on their social media page on January 5 evening and released the photos with caption “BPLA soldiers who joined the allies in the Battle of Hopang.”
On January 5 morning, while the city of Hopang was being attacked, the BPLA Commander Maung Saung Kha said, “BPLA’s Northern Battalion is storming Hopang with allies,” on his social network.
The three brotherhood alliances attacked and occupied Hopang in Wa Self-Administered Division in northern Shan State. The Three Brotherhood Alliance announced that during the city capturing battle, the Junta Council and their companions fled across the Thanlwin River valley.
The junta council camps in Hopang, military council offices, 145th Battalion, a police station under the Military Council, Departmental offices, including the hospital, were attacked and occupied.
Hopang was attacked and seized by the Three Brotherhood Alliances, and was transferred to the United Wa State Army-UWSA.
At present, Hopang is controlled by the 318th Wa Army Brigade, and the Wa National Flag has been hoisted in the center of the city.
The Burmese People’s Liberation Army-BPLA is participating in the 1027 operation, which is being led by the Three Brotherhood Alliances.
