BAGO DIVISION- According to sources inside the army, a Lieutenant from junta Infantry Battalion-6 (IB-6) was reportedly killed by his fellow soldier in an accidental gunfire.
The Company Commander of IB-6 based in Tain Myote Village asked his fellow soldier to empty and clean his gun. The soldier took out the bullets in the gun, then he aimed and pulled the trigger. But the gun was loaded (although he reported clear the bullets) and hit the officer’s neck and killed him on the spot.
“At night, when the Company Commander asked his fellow soldier to empty his gun when the private thought there was no ammunition left in the gun and pull the trigger aiming towards the officer. One bullet that remained in the gun went off, hitting the commander in the neck. He died while being taken to the Pyay General Hospital. The incident happened on August 11. The soldier who pulled the trigger was also arrested,” said a military source.
To prevent this news of the death of the Commander from being leaked, the military has banned family members from communicating with the outside world. However, the news has been leaked.
