MAGWAY DIVISION – National Unity Government (NUG) Ministry of Defence (MOD) said that the mine attack on the junta column that came to collect the dead body of a junta informant in Maekhaung Village, Aunglan Township killed four junta soldiers.
Around 20 junta soldiers that came to collect at body around 9:40 a.m. on July 30 were reportedly blasted and attacked by the People’s Defence Force (PDF) who witnessed the death of four terrorist junta soldiers.
The attack was jointly carried out by Thayet District PDF Battalion 1, 5 and Aunglan Sinbaungwae People’s Defence Team who detonated the mines then launched the attack. It lead to an exchange of fire but members of the PDF were said to be able to return unharmed.
In addition, in Sagaing Division, there were eight explosions in Shwebo for the 35th anniversary of 8888 uprising, said Bo. Kywelgyi, the representative of Buffalo Soldiers Freedom Force (BSDF).
At around 8 a.m. on August 8, in commemoration of the 35th anniversary of the uprising, bomb blasts were carried out at eight places away from the public and close to the bases of terrorist junta soldiers as psychological warfare and to commemorate the anniversary. It is being investigated if there were any junta casualties while members of the defence force could return unharmed.
“Because it was the anniversary of the 8888 uprising, we carried out blasts at places in town near the terrorist junta forces and away from the people. It was sort of a psychological battle against them. They patrolled the sites of the blasts but there was no arrest of civilians or anything,” said Bo. Kywelgyi of BSDF.
