AYEYARWADDY DIVISION – It has been reported that a junta council column consisting of 40 junta council troops devastated Ngarpyayma village, Hainggyikyun town, Ayeyarwaddy division, on August 24.
A unit of 40 junta council servants including an officer from Hainggyikyun navy had entered into the village using the offensive attack formation. They (junta council servants) asked the villagers whether there is a revolutionary force in the village or not and checked the registration lists.
“The junta council troops including a military officer from the navy and other ranks had entered into the village using a military vehicle. Half of them were set up as hidden sentry posts and the rest of them conducted offensive attacks into the village,” said an eye witness from Ngarpyayma village.
The locals mentioned that the junta council troops checked the household registration lists in the village and asked the civilians whether they have contact with the members of PDF (People Defense Force) or not, by threatening.
“They (junta council servants) went door to door and checked the household guest lists. They asked the civilians if they (civilians) have contacts with PDF. And forced the civilians to inform them (junta servants) if someone contacted the PDF. They threatened the civilians that if the civilians don’t inform them, they will arrest the civilians under terrorism law and sentence them to death penalty,” said a local woman.
Starting from the first week of June, the junta council troops checked the household registration lists in the villages in Hainggyikyun township using the launch offensive formation.
