SHAN STATE (SOUTH) – Mobye People’s Defence Force (MBPDF) announced on Sunday (June 18) that a total of 84 confrontations broke out and around 540 junta forces were killed within the two years since its establishment.
In the statement commemorating the second anniversary of the force’s establishment, MBPDF also mentioned that 23 of its comrades had sacrificed their lives for the country in the revolution for federal democracy.
MBPDF stated that People’s Defence Forces sprang all across the country to achieve true federal democracy following the nationwide protests after the junta council refused to accept the election results and stole the power in a coup on February 1, 2021.
Similarly in Mobye, when protestors who staged peaceful protests wishing for federal democracy were returned with violent crack-downs at the hands of the atrocious junta regime, MBPDF was formed on June 17, 2021 to eradicate military dictatorship and to strengthen the revolutionary force.
MBPDF is said to have directly faced off against the terrorist junta council troops in a total of 84 battles, alongside the allied forces, killing around 540 junta soldiers and injuring a large number of junta forces.
Moreover, it is said that as a result of the terrorist junta council’s gunfire and shellings, 43 innocent civilians have been killed in Mobye Township and 44 more were injured while around 60 buildings, including churches, religious buildings and civilian houses, were destroyed since the military coup.
MBPDF also added that it has re-elected battalion commanders, second-in-charge, officers and company commanders as per federal democracy standards on its second anniversary of establishment and assigned the duties.
