KARENNI STATE- Internally displaced people (IDPs) said that people who have been fleeing the war for more than 2 years at the Kannigyi refugee camp, from Daw Ngan Kar Village to the western Demoso, Demoso Township urgently need food and tarpaulin.
Kannigyi Refugee Camp (1) has more than 40 houses and around 170 people who want to work, but because they are fleeing the war, they don’t have their land, so they have to rely on the support of the public.
“We need rice, oil, salt, medicine. Food is essential because we have to eat every day. We also need tarpaulin. The tarpaulin began to rot and crack. There are many things we need,” said a refugee woman.
Currently, a school has been opened in the IDP camp and teaching more than 120 children from KG to Grade 9 from camps 1, 2 and 3.
Since most of the people who fled the war in Karenni State have to rely on the help and support of domestic and abroad donors, over time, they are facing need and difficulties, said internally displaced people.
