KARENNI STATE – According to Dr. Chit, who treats refugees in Karenni state, the rate of malaria may increase during the rainy season.
“There are few people who have malaria right now because there’s a lot of malaria in the rainy season. During the past rainy season, brain malaria parasites were found. Health personnel were also less powerful in checking the Test kits and malaria-related drugs. It was assumed that malaria would occur again in the coming rainy season and that some places would suffer. We need to start storing Malaria medicines although it is not enough, but filling as much as possible, and we are still searching,” said Dr. Chit.
During the past rainy season, up to 30 people suffered malaria viruses in two townships in Karenni state within a month and also in other places.
It is also said that because of the large number of refugees in Karenni, medical clinics and IEC officials are also encouraged to collect malaria-related drugs during the rainy season.
It’s been reported that malaria is difficult to control when it spreads and only can prepare things such as medications, test kits, and methods to set up to control malaria for healthcare personnel.
