KARENNI STATE – The Youth Academy College (YAC) in Karenni State is propagating knowledge for the future of the youth and is currently teaching 60 students, according to founder Mr. Khoo Pa Yeyal.
“We are preparing to fulfill the education needs in Karenni State, aiming to reduce the youths living without a purpose. We want them to be able to graduate with practical skills for the real world. For now, we are teaching the first batch (of students),” said Mr. Khoo Pa Yeyal.
As education is the foundation for the youths, YAC is said to be taking care of the education as well as the living expenses of its 60 students, teaching them in a boarding school style.
YAC was first opened on January 2, 2023 and is teaching courses in Karenni literature and history, English, computer, online self study, research, socioeconomic science, leadership and scholarship application and has a clause for the graduates to serve two years for Karenni State.
The college plans to educate the young people amidst the difficulties and needs in the living to raise the future generation of Karenni State and will also be accepting applicants in the upcoming 2025 school year.
