SOUTHERN SHAN STATE- The Pa’O Youth Organization (PYO) announced on April 15 that 61 civilians had been killed in the fighting against the joint forces of the junta and militia; Pa’O National Army (PNA) and allied revolutionary forces.
The list of 61 dead was collected for almost 3 months, from January 21 to April 13, when firefights in Hsihseng began.
Those battles reportedly occurred in southern Shan State, Nyaung Shwe Township, and the Pa’O Autonomous Region Pin Laung, Hopone, Hsihseng, and other townships.
According to the report, 18 people were killed by a large weapon, 16 due to air strikes, and 15 people were arrested and killed by armed forces. Including up to 12 deaths due to various causes.
According to autopsy findings, there were 43 men and 4 women, and the gender of the remaining 8 bodies could not be confirmed.
Due to the junta council’s heavy weaponry and aerial attacks, 4 hospitals/clinics, 2 road bridges, 12 schools, 25 religious buildings, and 552 residential houses were destroyed by fire.
According to PYO, more than ten children under the age of 13 were among the dead, and there are more than 70,000 people fleeing war so far.
