TANINTHARYI DIVISION – Local People’s Defense Forces have reported that there is a battle between the People’s Defense Joint Forces and the Military Council in Kaleinaung.
At 5:30 a.m. on 29th May, Light Infantry Battalion (LIB) (409) and LIB (410) battalions based in Kaleinaung were attacked by joint forces of the People’s Defense Forces reportedly.
Although the details of the attack are disclosed, a local resident said, “Since around 5 in the morning, we have heard the sound of both heavy and small arms.” He said.
After that, at least 80 terrorist council soldiers came to Kyaukshark village and were stationed inside the school. Locals said that they had set up hideouts along the road.
At around 11:00 a m., there was an exchange of fire in Kyaukshark village, according to the local defense forces. The details are not disclosed.
During this incident, at least four Kyauksha villagers were abducted by the junta council, and an elderly man was also beaten and tortured, local residents said.
Currently, a large number of junta thugs have been patrolling the vicinity of Kyaukshark Village.
The stated battalions are stationed between Kaleinaung town and Kyaukshark village, and whenever they are attacked, they usually march into Kyaukshark village, which has good geographical and military advantage, defense forces added.
During the third week of this month, the People’s Defense Forces warned the junta council informers in Kyaukshark Village.
