SHAN STATE – The Kokang-Mongko transportation road has been reopened after the attack and conquest of the Thanlwin Bridge (Tarpar Bridge) in the Kokang region, according to the report of Kokang Army-MNDAA.
Thanlwin bridge from Yankhant village, Manglor village tract, Kokang Dustrict was attacked in the evening of November 6 and seized on the morning of November 7. Two junta soldiers died, one was captured alive and others escaped.
The 100-meter long steel cable-stayed bridge was built by the junta dictatorship government in 2005, it connects the each bank of Thanlwin River and it is the main route connecting Kokang, Mongko District and Minekyat area.
More than 120 junta camps were captured, including bridges such as Kumlong Bridge and Tarpar Bridge (Thanlwin Bridge) and a small boat harbour during Operation 1027, according to the statement of MNDAA.
