KAREN STATE – There is a fierce battle between the revolutionary alliance forces and the military council forces in Kyonedo, and the military council camps are being attacked by the revolutionary forces, said an official from the Southern Military District.
The battle began around 5:00 a.m. on April 19 in the vicinity of Kyonedo and the revolutionary forces led by the KNLA attacked the junta council’s 1 strategic camp and 2 battalions at the same time.
“We are simultaneously attacking the army’s strategic base and LIB-545, 546. It is a joint attack,” said an official from the Southern Military Region.
As the terrorist junta council soldiers are suffering, they are mainly using air support and fighter jets are dropping 500 pound bombs near the city of Kyonedo. It is known that the people around Kyonedo are fleeing.
“The planes are flying all the time and the battle is going on, so people have to run away from the bullets as they heard all the sounds of large and small weapons,” explained a resident of Kyonedo Township.
