KAREN STATE – The junta council fired heavy artillery shells at Ywar Tan Shay Village, Kawkariek Township, on Wednesday (June 7) at 9:30 a.m., killing a 12-year-old child and wounding a 4-year-old child and her mother.
Hlaing Wa Artillery Forces under the junta regime’s Military Operations Command 12 fired two 120mm shells into the villages located in the KNU Brigade 6 controlled area, Duplaya District.
Mr. Kyaw Than Aung, 12, was hit and killed by the junta shell, and Nan Yaywaddy, 4, and her mother, Ms. Tapi, 43, were wounded.
KNU Central stated that civilians are being killed, and their houses and properties are being destroyed due to the junta’s war crimes and violations of human rights.
