BAGO DIVISION – Over 20,000 civilians from over ten villages in Kyaukgyi Township are fleeing because the junta council recklessly fired heavy artillery shells, said the residents.
On Wednesday (June 7) afternoon, junta soldiers at Nat Than Kwin Bridge fired heavy artillery shells at the civilian villages.
As a result, civilians from Yay Twin Kone, Gway Tan Shay, Ohn Chit Kone, Ohn Pin Su, Taw Kyaung Pauk, Daung Moet, Inn Dine Kone, Kyauk Sayit, Lain Pin, and Pe Thaung Villages are fleeing, said the residents.
The junta fired 60mm shells and also carried out airstrikes, the residents added. “The junta soldiers from the other side of the fallen bridge fired heavy artillery shells. Except for those who can’t afford to run, most of the villagers are fleeing,” said the resident.
