MON STATE – A local commander of the Karen National Liberation Army (KNLA) Brigade (1) has reported that a bridge on the Kyaik Htee Yoe mountain road in Kyaik Hto Township, Mon State, was destroyed by a mine attack. The mine detonated at approximately 3:00 p.m. today (July 6th).
The KNLA commander stated, “I still don’t have the picture. The entire bridge has collapsed.”
In recent days, the KNLA allied forces have been targeting bridges in an effort to sever the military council’s army support route. The Nat Than Kwin bridge and Kyo Eate bridge in Bilin Township, on the Mawlamyine-Yangon route, have been successfully demined by the KNLA.
The KNLA commander also mentioned that the Than Ta Dar checkpoint, located at the junction of Kyaik Hto and Bilin, was subjected to six drone attacks around 2:00 p.m. this afternoon. The investigation into casualties on the Military Council side is still ongoing, while no damages have been reported on the side of the partner forces.
