KAREN STATE – The terrorist junta council shelled Taungkyainn Village in Kyondoe Township for two consecutive days, killing a civilian and injuring two, stated the information department of Karen National Union (KNU) Dupalaya District.
Around 10:47 a.m. on December 18, junta infantry 230 under military operations command 12 of the terrorist junta council fired heavy artillery into Taungkyainn Village and 46 year old Ms. Nan Mi Su was hit by shrapnel and died on the spot.
Similarly on December 19 around 5:30 p.m., the same junta battalion fired 120mm shells into the village and two local women received shrapnel injuries.
It is said that 71 year old Ms. Khin Yi and 68 year old Ms. Nan Mular An, both residents of Taungkyainn Village, were injured by the junta shelling and currently receiving medical treatment.
