SHAN STATE – The Ta’ang National Liberation Army (TNLA) is attacking the junta council base in Manton in Northern Shan State, and the fighting continues to be intense, said a TNLA information officer.
TNLA is on the offensive to gain complete control of the cities in Northern Shan State, and gained complete control of Namsan City on December 15 and Namkham City on December 19th, and only 130th Infantry Battalion troops of the junta council were left in Manton.
“In Manton, fighting is fierce. This morning (December 22) also, the junta council came with planes and bombarded the town,” said the TNLA press officer. In addition, he said that 1027 Operation is still being implemented as planned.
He said that the people in the town of Namkham, occupied TNLA, are conducting their business regularly. “Namkham is back in business. Markets are open. There are people in the morning market and the day market. Some people from Namsan are returning to the villages as well. There are some people who have not returned yet,” said the TNLA information officer.
As the military council, to defend their camps, use air support and heavy weapons repeatedly, the TNLA attacked and occupied more than 60 military bases, including large military bases in Namsan and Namkham.
