NORTHERN SHAN STATE – Locals reported that many terrorist soldiers, including armored vehicles, have arrived in Kyaukme Town, and that there are fierce fights in Naunghkio Township.
On November 20, at around 9:57 p.m., there were fierce fights in Naunghkio, Ummati, Ummakha, and Shwenyaungpin Townships. The terrorist junta council’s artillery battalion 501 and 502 have been firing heavy weapons. In addition, a large number of terrorist soldiers, including armored vehicles, have arrived in Kyaukme, guarding the construction (repair) site of Jinthi Bridge.
“Armored vehicles arrived at Kyaukme Tollgate. They are at the construction site of a temporary bridge over the mined Jin Thi Bridge which had been occupied and detonated the previous week. There are about 200 soldiers at the bridge with hidden sentries set up alongside the road. Heavy weapons are fired from Kyaukme 501 and 502 batallion. The inspection is also tight at Kyaukme Tollgate, checking the phones. Some people reportedly were arrested,” said a local.
It is said that the junta council is planning to send troops and armor cars (which already are in Kyaukme) to Hsipaw and Lasio Towns after restoring (building a temporary way) the detonated Jinthi Bridge as the supply route has been cut off since the detonation of the bridge.
