CHIN STATE: As junta cut the mobile phone connection in Kanpetlet township, Chin state, the local people and the displaced people in the region do not know about the cyclone Mocha, as said by the local people.
Despite the fact that junta reopened some mobile connection in some townships in Chin State on the evening of May 12, the mobile phone connection of Kanpetlet township which is on the route of cyclone Mocha hasn’t been reopened yet.
“The mobile phone connection from Kanpetlet hasn’t been opened yet. The Public Administration doesn’t have any evacuation plan for the storm, but there is a warning about it. Junta forces, on the other hand, haven’t announced anything yet, as said by a local.
There has been continuous rain falling since 9 p.m. on May 12 in Kanpetlet township and Saw township.
The local continued, “There are so many civilians who do not know about the cyclone. The related departments should educate the civilians about the possible dangers of the cyclone.”
Due to the lack of mobile phone connection in Kanpetlet township, the people from villages and those who were internally displaced in the forest have not known anything about cyclone Mocha yet.
