MAGWAY DIVISION – According to the Township People’s Administration Body, a People’s Defence Force (PDF) comrade was shot dead by a junta council column in Me Ywa Village, Gangaw Township.
The deceased comrade Mr. Gwa To, a 30-year-old resident of Me Ywa Villages, was shot dead by the junta Infantry Battalion 50 based in Gangaw Township on the evening of September 3.
An official of the Gangaw Township People’s Administration Body said that Mr. Gwa To went to inform the civilians of the arrival of the junta column because there was no phone line in Me Ywa Village, and he was shot dead while evacuating them.
“The people in Me Ywa Village didn’t know about the movement of the junta column. He returned to the village and was going to take the villagers out when he was shot from the back,” said the official.
The terrorist 50th Infantry Battalion based in Gangaw Township regularly raids the villages and loots food and locals said that they often destroy civilian property.
