MYANMAR – The Assistance Association for Political Prisoners (AAPP) reported that a total of 3,720 innocent people had been killed and 23,635 abducted through brutal crackdown by terrorist junta forces across Myanmar, almost two and half years of the bloody coup d’état in Myanmar.
The reported figures were compiled by AAPP within their range from 1 February 2021 to 28 June 2023 and the actual casualties are likely to be higher. It was said that if more data is collected, it will be added further.
During the Spring Revolution, 19,279 people are still currently detained, of those convicted, 6,599 have been sentenced to prison.
A total of 115 death row prisoners were sentenced to death in connection with the Spring Revolution and are being detained in prison. A total of 121 people had been sentenced in absentia including 42 people sentenced to death. It brings the total to 157 people who have been sentenced to death.
Currently, a total of 4,356 people have been released.
A total of 12 civilians have been slaughtered in terrorist junta’s airstrike attacks nationwide from June 1 to 28, with 10 deaths in Sagaing Division, the highest number.
Moreover, on June 27, at around 3:00 p.m., the atrocious junta’s air forces of Tada-U airbase unprovokedly launched aerial bombings over Nyaung Kone Village in Pale Township of Sagaing Division, killing a monk and eight locals. It was reported that one of the injured civilians was passed away later, bringing the total number of fatalities to 10. Moreover, the monastery and 13 of civilians’ houses in the village were destroyed by those airstrike attacks.
