BAGO DIVISION – Residents reported that two junta administrative officers were fatally shot while traveling on Karen Chaung Road, Ke Lin Kone Village, Yedashe Township.
On April 19 at 11 p.m., Naing Aung Zin, 49, from Nat Sat Kone Village, and Thaung Naing Oo, 45, from Ke Lin Kone Village, were killed while returning to Nat Sin Kone Village from Ke Lin Kone Village.
“Thaung Naing Oo was driving the motorcycle, with Naing Aung Zin riding pillion. Gunmen, who had obtained their information, lay in wait and then shot them dead,” stated a resident.
Residents mentioned that the officers had been attempting to enforce conscription laws by coercing civilians to serve the junta council.
Both officers sustained gunshot wounds to their heads, chests, and hands, and their bodies were retrieved by locals.
It remains unknown which group carried out the attacks. On March 15, between Kyar Inn Kone and Taung Ai Villages, the Pyu Saw Htee leader, who regularly accompanied junta soldiers, was also killed.
