CHIN STATE – Chin National Organization/ Chin National Defense Force (CNO/CNDF) issued a statement saying that Salai Daniel, the brigade commander of CNDF brigade 1, who took the lead role in the raiding attack to the junta council outpost in Varr village, Falam township, Chin state where the junta council troops were firmly stationed, was promoted to the commander in chief of CNDF.
As the prior commander in chief of CNDF Salai Peter Thang was promoted to the vice-president of CNO, Salai Daniel was promoted to the commander in chief of CNDF.
CNDF stated that “the prior commander in chief of CNDF Salai Peter Thang has been appointed as the vice-president 1, so Salai Daniel was appointed to the vacant position, commander in chief. Prior to that, Salai Daniel was a brigade commander in brigade 1. He was mainly responsible when CNDF captured the junta council outpost in Varr village.”
On April 10, the comrades from CNDF attacked and captured a junta council outpost in Varr village, Falam Township, Chin state and managed to capture a large amount of ammunition.
A unit of 25 junta council troops were stationed in Varr outpost. During the attack, 14 junta council troops including an officer were killed and 11 were captured alive. CNDF could confiscate over 20 weapons, bullets and ammunition.
