SAGAING DIVISION: After Nyaungpingyi police station, Salingyi township, Sagaing division had been raided, the junta’s forces had been reinforced and the compound of the police station had been expanded, as said by the local forces.
The junta’s forces had been torching down the nearby area of Nyaungpingyi for five days from June 9 to 13. It was said that the compound of the police station will be expanded from the bank of the ayeyarwaddy river to the cemetery at the back of the police station. The houses and the roads nearby were dug by the bulldozer and the sign was stuck as “the land owned by the army”, as said by Captain Swan, the responsible person of Darmasai Army.
“It seems to expand the compound of the police station after clearing the land. It was heard that the whole village of Nyaungpingyi will be regarded as the army owned land. Currently, old aged people and those who have not been displaced are being evacuated. The torching down the houses may suggest the place not to be attacked,” said one of the comrades of Moekyoe Bullet Guerrilla Force.
Currently, Theintaw ward, the wards at the back of the police station, Htantaw village, at the east of the police station, and Hnintaw village, Ywashae village, Ohma village, Mingalar Kone village, at the north of the police station were said to have been torched down.
The houses and the roads were destroyed by bulldozers and the bankers were built. It is expected to deploy the military mission after building the bankers. The residents from the houses around the police station could not return home as there were no houses nor land, as said by a resident of Salingyi region.
Nyaungpingyi police station was said to have been attacked by the coalition of the People Defence Forces and the Loikaw based Buffalo PDF around 5 p.m. on June 9, which caused the death of more than 10 junta’s soldiers. Many weapons were also said to have been confiscated.
