CHIN STATE – Locals stated that one of the armed forces had arrested the temporary Samee Police Station Commander at teashop, which is owned by his wife, in No. 2 Ward, Samee Town, Paletwa Township, Chin State on September 16 at around 8 p.m.
The detainee is known to be Police Second Lieutenant Naing Zaw Aung (38), assigned as temporary Police Station Commander and one of the confidants of Samee Tactic Operation Command. He is said to be a native from Mandalay Town and had been in charge as temporary Police Station Head while there is no Police Station Commander.
Naing Zaw Aung is famous in Samee Town in a bad way due to his extortion on cases and oppress upon the locals with the support of Tactic Operation Command according to the information from the locals.
“He is famous in Samee. He doesn’t have a good relationship with residents. He had oppressed the locals with the backing of his Tactic Operation Command,” a local said.
The information about which forces have arrested the temporary Police Station Commander could not be confirmed yet.
In addition, one resident has been forcibly detained after being accused of relating to the temporary Police Station Commander arrested case until now.
Moreover, Samee Town in Paletwa Township is said to be the military operation territory of Chin National Army (CNA) and Paletwa Battalion 1 of Chin Defence Force (CDF).
