MAGWAY DIVISION – The junta council reportedly attacked Kantha Village in Gangaw Township using air strikes on Monday morning (September 18) and so the locals were forced to flee.
The junta council was said to have started attacking with planes while there was an intense battle between Gangaw local People’s Defence Force and the junta soldiers from infantry #50.
More than 2,000 locals from Kantha Village were also forced to flee because of the junta forces’ penetrations and aerial attacks.
“The airstrike started at about 8:00 a.m. Kantha villagers are on a run. The junta troops are now in the village,” said a villager.
The condition of the subsequent damage caused by the airstrike is not yet known.
“The junta force launched an offensive attack with over 100 soldiers on September 12. The arrived Kantha this morning. We retreated a little bit for a while. There is no casualties on our side as of now. I don’t know the situation on the junta side,” said a member of Gangaw PDF.
Currently, the junta soldiers are penetrating the northern part of Gangaw Township with force.
