TANINTHARYI DIVISION – The number of battles between the Military Council Army and the People Defence Forces decreased compared to July. In July, at least 52 battles occurred but in August, 28 battles occurred in Tanintharyi Division.
Battles and shootings happened in 7 townships, such as Dawei, Longlon, Yebyu, Thayetchaung, Palaw, and Thanintharyi Kawthoung, in the 10 townships of Tanintharyi Division.
According to the statement of the People Defence Forces, 38 people were killed and at least 31 were injured from the side of the Military Council and Pyu Saw Htees in the fighting that broke out from August 1st to 31st.
On the side of the People Defence Forces, a comrade was killed in a battle around Ekani Village in Yebyu Township, and another comrade was killed by a large weapon in a battle around Bang Kyuk Village in Tanintharyi Township.
A total of 8 comrades from the People Defence Forces were injured during the month.
