MYANMAR – National Unity Government (NUG) Prime Minister Mann Win Khaing Than said that he believes that he will hear more good news about junta battalions deserting the junta council.
He said that the recent news of the surrender of Maese Strategic Hill military camp in Karenni State is very encouraging for the revolutionary forces.
“Since August 2021, we have formed the People’s Shelter Program Implementation Committee and made efforts to reduce the guns pointing at the people. Now, the news that they are leaving the junta council by the whole regiment is very encouraging news for the revolution. I believe there will be more people who will understand the true situation of the revolution and join the people,” Union Prime Minister Mann Win Khaing Than said.
Some Karenni military officials said that since June 13, the junta council’s military camps and police stations in Maese Township in Karenni State have been attacked and seized by the revolutionary forces including the Karenni Joint Forces.
The Karenni military informed that there have been weapons and ammunition seized from the junta council, that the junta forces are suffering from casualties and deserters, and that military council troops have surrendered, but the exact number has not yet been released.
The Union Prime Minister also said that he is always ready to work together with a true revolutionary spirit, to all allied organizations facing the revolution, even if it is an individual.
On the other hand, the Union Prime Minister cautioned that there is a need to take special care to overcome the spread of false information and alienation by the junta council in various ways.
