MYANMAR – According to the community close to the judiciary, the appellate causes of President Win Myint and stated Counsellor Aung San Suu Kyi who were lawlessly detained, prosecuted and imprisoned by the junta council, will be heard at the Union Supreme Court, in July.
A close acquaintance of the court mentioned that “the cases will be heard on July 5, 12 and 18. The cases regarding the general election and the secret act will be heard on July 5, the cases regarding the helicopter on July 12 and other cases will be heard on July 18. All the cases will be heard by their (junta council’s) ministry of justice.”
The coup council sentenced State Counsellor Aung San Suu Kyi to a total of 33 years in prison under a total of 19 cases.
The close person continued, “we were told by a news source from the prison that aunty (referring to the state counsellor with admiration) is in good health. As the family members of President Win Myint is sending the parcels for him (the president), we don’t know his situation.”
It was known that the junta council has not yet granted permission to the lawyers to meet with them as the cases of the leaders of the country have been appealed at the Union Supreme Court.
