YANGON DIVISION – The genocidal junta reportedly forced the closure of Aung Yadana private hospital in South Okkalapa Township for employing CDM doctors who joined in the Civil Disobedience Movement, according to the health community.
Starting from next May, Aung Yadana Hospital will be closed because of the acceptance of CDM doctors. Pinlon Private Hospital in Yangon was also forced to close for the similar reason of accepting CDM doctors. When private hospitals are forced to be closed, junta’s military doctors would expand their activities in the private health sector in various ways.
“The junta council would turn a blind eye to the happenings at hospitals and clinics run by the military doctors. Whoever the doctors are, there is no action. But the junta conducts surprise checks at the private hospitals, delays the process in hospital license approval and disturbs the hospital activities. In the meantime, drugs are running out, prices are going up, and the hospital has to close for a while, so it may be difficult for patients,” said a source close to Aung Yadana Hospital.
There was no response from the hospital regarding the matter.
“There was no one in charge of the hospital yet, so please contact later. I don’t know when the people in charge will arrive,” said an official at Aung Yadana Hospital.
