SAGAING DIVISION – The offensive and shelling by the terrorist junta council troops in Tabayin Township forced over 5,000 civilians from more than ten villages to flee again, stated Mr. Htoo Khant Zaw (Amaethar) of Ye U based People’s Defence Comrade.
On Wednesday morning (August 2), terrorist junta forces invaded eastern Tabayin under cover of heavy artillery fire and more than 5,000 residents of Marakan, Ohnkhar, Bantbway, Sinyautkone, Tanae, Konetae, Inpin, Dainat, Myintankyay, Thapyaykone and Sinwutkone Villages in eastern Tabayin had to flee again.
Residents of villages such as Ywartharlay, Mutharkone, Kokkosu, Pauktha, Salgyi, Zeintzun, Pitakatkya, Chaungpauk, Maeoh, Letyetkone, Nyaunggyikone, Mukhatwin, Aungchantha, Thayettaw, Nhabaehla, Kankone, Walgyi, Nyaunghla, Letsal, Thapyaytha, Yonetha, Namyar and Yinkyay have also been fleeing since junta forces invaded the border of Tabayin and Ye U Townships on July 31 night.
“Around 5,000 more people from eastern Tabayin had to flee their homes this morning (August 2) as the junta column with combined troops from light infantry battalion 708 and 702 that camped at Pitakatkya Village in southern Ye U for two days advanced towards the villages in eastern Tabayin while fire heavy artillery. Currently, that junta column is stationed at Marakan Village and has reportedly started setting fire to the village,” said Mr. Htoo Khant Zaw (Amaethar).
Over 13,000 people from those villages are currently fleeing and as the number of displaced people is extremely high, there is said to be an emergency need of rations.
