SAGAING DIVISION- It has been known from locals that the junta made an airstrike near the villages of Depaeyin Township, Sagaing Division, on April 17 at about 8 p.m.
One jet fighter from Ta Dar U Air Force fired between Kywatthit, Maethal, and Inntan villages, one mile from the western part of Depaeyin Township.
A local said that the junta council made an airstrike after releasing the news of capturing the town’s junta camp by the Local People Defense Force.
They (the junta council) had been propagandized. They heard that fake news about capturing Depaeyin Township. But it wasn’t true. They fired the villagers who went fishing because they thought they were the People’s Defense Force’s members last night, a person who lives in the western part of Depaeyin Township said.
It has been said that the heavy weapons from jet fighters only landed and exploded outside the villages. So there weren’t any injuries or damages.
He continued that after firing, locals absconded at night and now they were back to the village and were making region clearance.
And he added that we gathered the pieces of the junta’s heavy weapon this morning. We carried a creeper gear tractor because those were unable to be brought by people. There might be some unexploded grenades. We were looking for them.
On February 13, the villagers of Inntan, Tawkyaung, Nyeinchanywarthit, Pawar, and Mhanthar village absconded due to a junta column from Yayoo Township raided near Depaeyin Township.
