KARENNI STATE – The western part of Demoso has entered the cold season after the end of the rainy season, and the refugees need warm clothes because of the cold weather.
An official of Tun Myanmar Donation said that 90 warm clothes for adults and almost 260 warm clothes for children were donated as the number of clothes matched the population at the camp.
“An official of the committee of a refugee camp in the western part of Demoso contacted me and asked for help with warm clothes as it is the cold season and because I also had the warm clothes on hand, I donated them. Just a little November donation,” he said.
One piece of adult clothing and three pieces of children clothings were donated per household. It is said that seasonal flu is still rampant as the rain hasn’t completely stopped during the change from rainy season to cold season.
Although there is a clinic, there are still needs for medicine in every refugee camp. Some of the refugees who have recovered from their illness but still have a cough are relying on local therapy by drinking the Eclipta prostrata leaves.
