KARENNI STATE- An official of the Joephyu Revolution Force announced that the children and teachers of Pinlalkwe (Gulf) School in the western part of Demoso town were treated with meals and provided with morale and financial support last Wednesday (September 27).
It is reported that the Dove KK Force is going to provide assistance to the Pinlalkwe School, so the two groups went there on the same day.
“When our PDF members come back from the front line, we are helping (the society) as much as we could in the back line. This is also because a donor wanted to treat a nutritious meal as his birthday celebration. The donor is (Mr.) Bike Kalay,” he said.
At the Pinlalkwe School, five volunteer teachers have been teaching 65 students ranging from kindergarten to grade 5. Most of the students are war-displaced persons.
These children have been avoiding war for a long time and the PDF members arrange mini-games and competitions to reduce their fear of the sounds of explosions, reward those who did well in the games, and also sing and dance with them. The students are also treated to snacks, cold drinks, and biryani as lunch. The female teachers are also provided with financial support and sanitary pads, as stated by the providers.
In Karenni State, the military council is targeting schools, and it is reported that they have to study while listening to air raid warnings.
