MON STATE – The commander of the junta council’s artillery battalion 402, who was injured in an attack by the coalition forces of Karen National Liberation Army (KNLA) and the People’s Defence Forces (PDF), has died last Tuesday (June 13), according to the Regional Commander of KNLA Brigade 1.
The junta council troops were attacked by the joint forces with a drone on June 7 in Thaton Township, Thaton District in Karen National Union (KNU) Brigade 1 Area.The battalion commander of the junta artillery battalion, injured in the attack, was airlifted to hospital but died on June 13, the KNLA Commander confirmed on Thursday.
“Yes, it is true that he died while receiving medical treatment in Nay Pyi Taw on 13/6/2023,” said the KNLA Commander. It has been informed that the junta council troops had been attacked because they, including the artillery battalions, were targeting and shelling the civilians.
