MON STATE – Junta-appointed administrator Naing Ngwe Tun for Thabyuchaung Village in Paung Township was said to be seriously injured after getting shot at around 4 p.m. on Monday (August 28).
He was shot by two unknown men, who chased him after he left Thabyuchaung Village alone on a motorcycle, at Yinnyeinmyauk Village on the Yangon-Mawlamyaing Road.
Mr. Naing Ngwe Tun reportedly received two bullet wounds in the stomach and thigh and was sent to Paung Township Hospital by social assistance groups.
Also on August 28, junta forces sealed off the house of 30-year-old Mr. Soe Htike Aung at Ward No. 2 of Oattadar Village in Paung Township in the afternoon.
Mr. Soe Htike Aung who peacefully protested the military coup initially had joined the armed revolution against the junta council is now a member of Paung Township People’s Defence Force.
His wife, a school teacher, has also joined the Civil Disobedience Movement.
Recently on August 27 evening, Karen National Liberation Army (KNLA) joint forces conducted drone attacks on the junta troops stationed at the general administration office compound in Paung Township.
