MON STATE – The Tapin Shwehtee Column released a statement that they attacked the junta troops stationing at the staff housing of the general administration office in Paung Township, using unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV drones) on Monday (August 28).
It is reported that members of the Karen National Liberation Army (KNLA), Thaton District Brigade 1, PDF, and SOF members joined forces and attacked the area with a drone and dropped seven bombs.
During the attack, a junta Major Kyaw Naing Oo, two corporals, and a private; a total of five soldiers were reportedly injured.
The military troops returned fire with small arms as well as 40mm launchers, but the revolutionary forces were not harmed.
Within Mon State, there have been frequent attacks on the junta battalions, police stations, and campsites by drones and heavy shellings.
On the night of August 24, the junta soldiers from Light Infantry Batallion 207, who came to patrol Theinzayet Town, Kyaikhto Township, were attacked by the Kyaikhto revolutionary forces, KNLA and ABSDF joint team using land mines.
NUG’s Ministry of Defence announced on August 23 that about 400 drones are distributed to PDF battalions in various Divisions and Townships.
