YANGON DIVISION – A witness stated that the junta forces bashed and forcibly abducted five youths traveling on the YBS 82 at Hledan bus stop, in front of 119 store, Insein Road, No. 3 Ward, Kamaryut Township, Yangon on Sunday (August 27) at around 9 a.m. after the forces arrived at the bus stop in a white Honda fit and a white Probox city taxi.
“Around seven junta thugs came down from their cars and boarded the bus. When they came down, they had bashed and abducted five youths. One of the youths was even bleeding from his head injury as a result of being hit by short batons. All had been handcuffed. We last saw them driving toward Hledan junction,” one of the witnesses said.
The exact reasons for the youths being tortured and abducted from the bus are still under investigation.
Locals reported that the junta troops had interrogated and detained the youths for no reason in Kamaryut Township and released most of the detainees only after demanding bribes.
“All the residents in Kamaryut know well how these thugs have been doing. The office guard of Hledan train station and all the surrounding vendors are all junta informers. All the kids committing robberies and doing burglars are also working as their informers. We would like to notify all people to take heed while travelling,” a local said.
Furthermore, investigations by junta thugs and policemen in civvies have increased in Kamaryut Township in these days and they have tried to oppress the revolutionary forces by using various ways such as paying and sending informers everywhere.
