KAREN STATE – Innocent civilians were killed and numerous people have been forced to flee due to the junta council’s drone bombardment in Hpapon in Karen National Union (KNU) Brigade 5 territory, according to KNU Brigade 5.
The KNU Brigade 5 allied forces initiated attacks against the junta forces based in Hpapon on March 19, and while the two sides exchanged fire, the junta soldiers bombarded the villages in Hpapon region with drones.
Ms. Saw Mya Chal (50) and Ms. Cho Aye (4) were reportedly killed during the drone attacks by junta forces on March 24 evening and a 38-year-old woman got injured.
Additionally, about 400 Hpapon residents were forced to flee out of fear because of the drone bombardments from March 24 to 26.
It was mentioned that the terrorist junta council conducted an aerial attack against Hpapon Town on March 26 and drone attacks against Nedohta, Tadohta and Htumude Villages in Bawthayhta Village Tract of Luthaw Township, Hpapon District.
Similarly, four houses belonging to the innocent civilians were destroyed and three pigs, two goats and one dog were killed during the junta attack in Kalawhta Village, Malnyu Village Tract, Butho Township on March 25.
KNU Brigade 5 have announced that KNU alliance forces have been conducting operations to root out the junta council forces in Hpapon.
