BANGLADESH – According to reports from Bangladesh, 288 Myanmar soldiers and border guards who fled to Bangladesh due to fighting in Rakhine state have been sent back to Myanmar today.
The Chindwin warship of the Myanmar Navy arrived in Bangladesh yesterday to bring back 173 Bangladeshi citizens imprisoned in Myanmar to Bangladesh. 288 Myanmar soldiers and border policemen have been repatriated to Myanmar by the Chindwin warship today.
At 7:00 a.m. today, the Bangladesh government brought 288 Myanmar soldiers and border policemen to the BIWTA wharf by a tugboat in Cox’s Bazar’s Nuniachhara under tight security and transferred them to the Myanmar Navy’s Chindwin warship.
It is understood that the Burmese soldiers and border police have been transferred to the Burmese Junta Council in an orderly manner by the Bangladesh Ministry of Home Affairs, BGB, the District Governor, the police, the local health authority, and the Coast Guard.
At the beginning of this year, Myanmar terrorist soldiers and border guards fled to Bangladesh as the first batch of 330 troops, and they were brought back to Myanmar on February 15th.
