RAKHINE – The Arakan Army (AA) captured the junta infantry battalion – 380 in Minbya Township, according to Three Brotherhood Alliances.
On January 28 (Sunday), AA completely captured it despite the junta council sending reinforcements such as airstrikes or navy attacks as they lost their camps daily.
The affected junta council fired heavy artillery shells at Mrauk U Town, killing four civilians and destroying 20 civilians’ houses. Similarly, the junta council carried out a chemical weapons attack by fighter jets and heavy artillery shells at Yamree without heavy battle.
The junta infantry battalions – 232 and 344 based in Sittwe fired heavy artillery shells at civilian areas. One of the shells dropped and exploded in the field near Khwa Sone Village, Nga Sin Yine Creek Group, Minbya Township, wounding three civilians who were gardening.
The junta’s Y12 also carried out airstrikes around Pauk Taw on January 28 (Sunday) at around 8:30 p.m. and also fired heavy artillery shells.
A 17-year-old man also stepped on landmines planted by the junta council and lost his right eye and one leg. He was wounded while passing through the crematory of Hpa Pyo Village near Ann Thar Village. He is an IDP from Okkar Pyan Residential Ward of Minbya Downtown.
On January 27 (Saturday) at around 6:40 a.m., clashes started between AA and junta forces near Kyar Nyo Pyin Bridge Gate, Buutheedaung Township, and the battle continues with casualties on the junta side.
