MANDALAY DIVISION – An official from Unicorn Guerrilla Force said that one junta soldier was killed in Madaya Town after bomb attacks on three separate groups of junta troops.
At around 11 a.m. on Monday (May 29), junta soldiers, Pyu Saw Htee thugs and police at Awayyar Teashop located in front of the Madaya General Administration Office as well as the junta troops stationed at the Township Education Office were attacked with hand grenades while another bomb attack happened in eastern Madaya and one junta solider was reportedly killed.
“There was one confirmed death (among junta troops). His daughter posted herself on her social media account. It was a junta soldier that died. We are not sure yet if it was our attack or another group’s that killed him as the blast in eastern Madaya also took place at a similar time. The junta dogs (soldiers) have been opening fire wildly over the town of Madaya and conducting strict searches,” said the official from Unicorn Guerrilla Force.
The two attacks were said to be carried out by a cooperation of Unicorn Guerrilla Force, Phoenix SGG and Sein Pan Ni Ni Team, and the guerrilla force official added that they will be prioritising urban missions, requesting the people to avoid the junta council offices, police stations, checkpoints and junta forces.
In addition, in Karen State, Galon Column reported that they bombed the junta council’s Kyondoe Strategic Hill in Kawkareik Township, using drones on May 29, and the attack killed two junta soldiers.
Galon Column stated that the attack was in response to the tactical base of junta light infantry battalion 546 shelling a civilian village on May 28 evening and injuring nine civilians.
